SUSTAINABLE URBAN MOBILITY
SUSTAINABLE URBAN MOBILITY
Urban mobility or urban transport in general is a combination of passenger and goods transportation methods and systems that provide daily communication between different parts of a city. It is one of the fundamental aspects of socio-economic life that defines the rhythm of cities, within which various technologies are brought to life, innovations are implemented, and various urban and economic entities are active.
Modules
URBAN MOBILITY
Welcome to the first module of our online urban mobility training course. Currently, most of the planet's population lives in cities, and in some parts of the world, for example, in Europe, that number reaches 75%, although, of course, it should be taken into account that the city, as an administrative unit, is defined differently in different countries. About 57 percent of the population of the Republic of Armenia lives in 49 cities of our country. Although it is difficult to compare Yerevan, which has a population of more than 1 million, and Dastakert, which has a population of about 300 people, in general, such activities as work, education, trade, socialization, raising children, etc., are mainly concentrated in the cities.

PROMOTION OF SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY
Our final video lesson of this module will be devoted to measures to promote sustainable urban mobility. It is obvious that in modern cities, the means of transport are getting more and more widespread and, accordingly, occupying more space. This means that if the excessive proliferation of cars is not regulated, they gradually become dominant and push out most of the remaining alternatives (which we also notice in Armenia). Such a situation, in turn, creates obstacles for our efforts to move people and cargo efficiently.
